Warm golden light, vows read in two languages, and a sunset that felt straight out of a dream. Kayla & Arthur’s Hauser Hall wedding in Heidelberg, Ontario (just outside of Kitchener-Waterloo), was everything you’d want in a countryside celebration.
These two live in Ottawa now, but they met out west in Calgary. When it came time to plan their wedding, they brought everyone back near Kayla’s family home to celebrate. Arthur’s family even flew in from Brazil, making the day feel extra special with everyone together in one place.
Hauser Hall Wedding Venue – Photographer’s Perspective
Hauser Hall is such a gem for weddings in Heidelberg, Ontario. From a photographer’s perspective, it’s a dream venue because it gives you two totally different vibes in one location. The upstairs space is bright with high ceilings, amazing for natural light ceremonies and first dances. The downstairs reception area feels intimate and moody with its lamp-lit tables and window views. And then you step outside to the countryside and fields, which give you that timeless golden-hour backdrop.
If you’re planning a Hauser Hall wedding, it’s a venue that really delivers on variety while keeping everything in one place.
The Ceremony at Hauser Hall
Hauser Hall is a little chapel-like building set in the countryside near St. Jacobs, Ontario. The upstairs space is bright, airy, and perfect for a ceremony filled with natural light. Kayla & Arthur shared personalized vows, and Kayla even read hers in Portuguese, a nod to Arthur’s heritage. It was such a powerful moment to witness.
Cocktail hour flowed right there in the same space, transitioning later into dancing under the high ceilings.
Reception in the Coziest Basement
The downstairs of Hauser Hall has such a unique vibe, it’s darker and more intimate, but lined with windows so it doesn’t feel closed in. The tables were set with little lamps that gave the whole reception a cozy, glowing atmosphere. It was the perfect contrast to the airy upstairs, and honestly one of my favorite setups to photograph.
Sunset in the Fields at hauser hall
Right behind Hauser Hall is a wide-open field, and that’s where we got the most incredible golden sunset. After a day packed with energy and emotion, this was Kayla & Arthur’s chance to just breathe, be together, and soak in the fact that they had just gotten married. It was hands-down one of my favorite parts of their day.
Your wedding photos should feel like you. If you’re planning a wedding in Kitchener, Waterloo, or Southern Ontario, I’d love to tell your story.
